Baker / Pastry Chef

From the Group behind Alpino, Picnicka and Clarence Hospitality…For our new Deli concepts opening in August, we are looking for a pastry chef / baker with experience.We seek a passionate and motivated individual eager to grow within a reputable and professional hospitality group.If Mediterranean-style pastries, desserts, and breads are your specialty, please get in touch.This role is based in our commercial kitchen on Newton Street, Maunganui, where you will collaborate with our chefs who also prepare food for our other venues : Alpino, Picnicka, and Clarence.Join our team at Clarence!Your responsibilities will include : Daily baking and preparation of pasties for our delis.Preparing outstanding and innovative desserts for our restaurants : Alpino, Clarence, and Picnicka.Daily baking of breads and other bakery items.Nurturing and maintaining a positive staff culture to ensure your team strives for excellence.Ensuring high standards of operation, efficiency, and quality.For the right candidate, we offer : Competitive remuneration based on experience.Investment in your professional and personal development.Generous discounts across all venues.Hourly rate between $28 and $33, depending on experience.Minimum of 35 hours, averaging 45-50 hours per week.Free onsite parking.To be successful, you will have : A passion for food and a professional work ethic.At least 2 years of experience in professional kitchens or bakeries, locally or abroad.A desire for personal and team growth, leading by example.Excellent and transparent communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to multitask and adapt to flexible schedules.A humble attitude.We value our staff and are committed to developing ambitious individuals.
