    About the role

    This is a permanent, 0.8 FTE role based at Dunedin Hospital. Currently we are a team of four and you would work in a close and supportive environment. Our department provides generalist plastic surgery service; therefore, good exposure to a great variety of plastic surgery.

    These services include :

    • skin cancer treatment
    • breast reconstruction
    • elective hand surgery (acute hands are managed primarily by Orthopaedics)
    • the opportunity to provide reconstructive collaboration with the Orthopaedic, ENT and General Surgical Services.
    • Some experience in management of burns and experience in microsurgery is essential. We are well supported by the other Plastic Surgery centres in NZ with regard to large burns, cleft lip and palate, craniofacial surgery and vascular anomaly surgery.

      As an introduction, we provide care for a population of approximately 350,000 spread over the lower South Island of New Zealand. Our staff enjoy close relationships with the University of Otago, School of Medicine and Otago Polytechnic School of Nursing.

      About you

      This role is open to registered Medical Practitioners who have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

      Salary range

      This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro-rata).
