The Opportunity

As a  Senior Autoglass Technician (Leading Hand)  at  Smith&Smith® Taupo, you’ll take the lead in delivering high-quality vehicle glass repair, replacement, and recalibration services – while guiding and mentoring a skilled team of technicians.

This role requires hands-on leadership and technical expertise within our team. You’ll coach and mentor team members, ensuring our brand’s reputation for exceptional customer service is upheld in the community. Working in partnership with the Area Manager, you’ll contribute to the smooth, efficient day-to-day operations and ensure our service standards remain consistent.

  • Location : Smith&Smith® Taupo (28 Oruanui Street, Taupō Town Centre)
  • Hours : 40 hours, rostered across the week.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven leadership and teamwork skills , with the ability to keep daily operations running, smoothly and efficiently.
  • A coaching mindset , offering regular feedback, celebrating strengths, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • A passion for delivering authentic customer experiences , aligned with our brand and Values.
  • Hands-on expertise in automotive glass repair , with a commitment to quality and enthusiasm for promoting our value-added services.
  • Physical capability to repetitively lift heavy items (25kg) during a normal working day.
  • A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence .
  • Full, unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand .
