An exciting role has become available for an Advisor, First Nations Inclusion to join Suncorp’s specialist Diversity & Inclusion ( D&I ) team. Suncorp is proud to hold an Innovate RAP, strong Community partnerships, two internal Employee Resource Groups representing the voices of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island, Māori and Pasifika employees, and a successful internship program with Career Trackers Australia and Tupa Tua Aotearoa. But we know there is more to be done.

What you’ll do

As the Advisor, First Nations Inclusion you will work with Suncorp’s head of D&I, internal stakeholders and external partners to build a sustainable, collaborative First Nations strategy. This important role sits at Group level, across all our brands, and will shape innovative programs across the employee lifecycle, from hire to retire. With the support of key Executive Leadership and a wide network of enabling teams within People, Legal & Corporate Services, you will be set up for success.

  • Support design and delivery of projects aligned to First Nations and Indigenous inclusion.
  • Work closely with our Business Partnering, Strategic Advice and Talent Acquisition teams to design bespoke solutions across the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the First Nations and Indigenous employee resource groups.
  • Provide SME guidance on key customer and employee topics and products.
  • What you’ll bring

    This role is ideal for an Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about building strong foundations, influencing organisational and Cultural safety, centering the voices and experiences of First Nations employees, creating real employment and career development opportunities, and is committed to ensuring all employees feel a sense of connection and belonging.

  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery, preferably within the First Nations & Indigenous Inclusion space.
  • Alternatively, project experience within HR, D&I, or First Nations employment.
  • Experience working with internal employee groups and external partners.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexibly with stakeholders and prioritise action areas in real time.
  • Experience working in large, complex environments of benefit.
  • Qualification in First Nations & Indigenous Inclusion, D&I, HR, Org Design or Change Management of benefit but not a requirement.
