As a trusted partner for Schools, Universities and Retirement Villages across the motu, we take pride in maintaining the regions parks, playgrounds, gardens, infrastructure and public spaces.

To support our mission, we are looking for two Gardeners; One part time role based in Botany and one full timer position based in Birkdale.

The shift pattern for both roles are 7-3 : 30pm.

About the role :

As a proud partner of our Villages team, you'll play an important part in keeping the village and the vast garden beds and green spaces looking their best.

Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely with your crew, your tasks will include :

Creating and maintaining gardens to meet client expectations, including sourcing plants and materials, following garden plans and planting according to best practices

Managing the day-to-day operations of your designated site

Communicating regularly with the operations manager, team managers and client, promptly addressing and reporting any garden or planting issues

Prioritising safety, compliance, and quality in all garden related activities

About you :

Our ideal candidate will have Level 3 National Horticulture or Level 4 National Horticulture, a Growsafe Certification and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

• Other experience and skills we are seeking include;

A full class 1 drivers licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle

Extensive plant species knowledge and their maintenance requirements

Ability to accurately follow and implement gardening plans

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with members of the public and our client as needed

A proactive attitude with a dedication to delivering top-quality results in every task
