This role will suit a psychiatrist who has energy to tackle inequities, a desire to engage in service development, and the motivation to make a difference within our community.Generalist psychiatrist skills are required as participation in an afterhours on call roster is required.

The after hour's roster is well supported by skilled and experienced front line clinical staff who work with a cultural team.Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti Mental Health and Addiction Services, Te Ara Maioha, have several opportunities to either explore specialties or generalist Consultant Psychiatry in General Adult, Mental Health Services for Older People and Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Days and hours can be negotiated.Due to new funding allocated to Tairawhiti region for development of new service models and facilities that will better provide for the needs of the local community, now is the time to be part of shaping service delivery.

There is a focus in co-design and strong community engagement in addressing inequalities for Maori.Join our dynamic healthcare team in Tairawhiti, where we are dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to our community (population 50,000) on the East coast of the North Island.
