of Education NorthlandWe have a permanent, full-time, office-based role available, in the Whangarei office of Te Tai Tokerau.As a senior education advisor, Maori medium, you will work directly with our tumuaki, senior school leaders, Kahui Ako | Communities of Learning and Boards of Trustees on strengthening educational performance in schools and kura, with a particular focus on our Maori-medium kura across Tai Tokerau.You will be working as part of the Ministry of Education's regional team, ensuring that sector leaders and the communities in which they operate have access to the expertise, programmes and resources that allow Akonga Maori to reach their full potential.To be successful in this role, you will need the following : A tertiary qualification in education or leadership, or an equivalent level of practical experience, preferably as an experienced tumuakiStrong analytical skills and the ability to work with student achievement data to determine needs and prioritiesExperience in developing and implementing projectsThe ability to develop strong working relationships both within and outside the MinistryIn-depth knowledge of Tikanga Maori and fluency in Te Reo Maori (written and spoken)An understanding of education systems in New Zealand, and relevant education legislationAn understanding of factors which influence learner achievement and participationKnowledge of the New Zealand National Curriculum, and Te Marauranga o Aotearoa, the curriculum for Maori immersion educationHow to applySuggested as they share a similar subject, location or sector.
