About The Role - Te mahi

We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our team of room attendants and ensure we provide excellent customer service.

Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for cleanliness. This is a hands on role where you will be part of the team attending to guest rooms.

To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills. This role could be ideal for someone looking to take their next step in their housekeeping career.

Ultimately, you will help ensure our daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that guests are satisfied.

This is a permanent, part-time role based at Sudima Christchurch City Hotel. The rate is $27.75 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities :

  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee staff on a daily basis.
  • Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness.
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
  • Assisting the room attendants when required.

Requirements

  • Work experience as a Room Attendant, Housekeeping Team Leader, Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills.
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Proven ability in leading a team.
  • Assist with training and developing the team to achieve hotel standards.
  • A high level of organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • We are looking for someone who is flexible with their availability – to be successful, you will need to be able to work a typical hospitality roster and that means covering all shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
