We have an exciting opportunity for dedicated kaiako to join our team at Toi Ohomai Childcare Centre, as we expand to accommodate growing enrolments.Our team of kaiako is committed to fostering aroha, kindness, and meaningful connections that uphold the mana, wairua, and identity of our tamariki and their whanau.

With generous teacher-to-child ratios, we provide ample opportunities to listen to and support the aspirations of whanau and tamariki.

Our spacious natural outdoor environments encourage self-directed exploration and nurture a deep respect for Papatuanuku.We currently have two permanent fulltime roles available with :

  • 2 years – 3.5 yearsThe appointing salary for this role will be between $57,358 and $85,457, dependent on skills and experience and is aligned to Extended Pay Parity rates.The Early Childhood Teacher is based in our Windermere Campus (Tauranga) Toi Ohomai | Te Pukenga reporting to the Childcare Centre Manager and will be responsible for :
  • Building and maintaining respectful, genuine, and inclusive relationships with tamariki and their whanau, recognising them as the heart of our learning community.
  • Embedding the aspirations of Ngati Ranginui within your teaching practice, ensuring a strong cultural identity for tamariki, whanau, and kaiako.
  • Creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Working alongside colleagues to cultivate a space where tamariki feel valued, secure, and empowered.The suitable applicant will be :
  • Qualified with a recognised early childhood degree and hold current Teacher Registration.
  • Thoughtful and intentional in their approach to teaching.
  • Committed to integrating te ao Maori into everyday practice.
  • Enthusiastic team players with a positive attitude.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
