We steward the family violence and sexual violence system and drive realisation of the cross‑agency strategy—Te Aorerekura. We work in partnership with communities across Aotearoa New Zealand, placing survivors, families, and whānau at the heart of everything we do.

Te Haeata / The Opportunity

The Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention is seeking a Operations Lead. As Operations Lead, you'll support the Manager, Enabling Communities in delivering the regional programme of work. You will play a key role in connecting insights from communities, iwi, and the family violence and sexual violence (FVSV) sector to shape national strategies and policies.

In This Role, You Will

  • Build and strengthen relationships across the Keeping People Safe work programme, ensuring our teams work is well planned, connected and sequenced with the wider organisation.
  • Support the sustainability and innovation of community and Iwi‑led initiatives by providing trusted, evidence‑based advice on our programme to senior leaders, Ministers, and cross‑government forums.
  • Drive alignment with Te Aorerekura – the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence.
  • Lead a small team, fostering collaboration, excellence, and innovation.

Ō Pūkenga / Skills And Experience

You will be an experienced connector, advisor, and leader who thrives in complex, multi‑agency environments. You'll bring :

  • Proven experience working in complex change programmes, including building strategic relationships across government and communities.
  • Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equity.
  • Deep knowledge of place‑based and collective impact approaches.
  • Experience leading teams and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work across central and local government and community sectors.
  • Sound understanding of the machinery of government and public service values.

    • Most importantly, you bring integrity, aroha, and a genuine passion for enhancing the wellbeing of whānau, hapū, iwi, and communities.

    Utu ā‑tau / Salary

    The appointing salary for this role is likely to be between $143,719 and $164,144 based on skills and experience – The remuneration band for this role is $129,129 to $179,192 per annum.
