This is a rare opportunity to join a locally owned organisation that is delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the North Island.
The Role : Reporting directly to senior management, the Estimating Manager will lead the estimating team and play a pivotal role in driving successful project outcomes.
This includes managing tender submissions, overseeing procurement, ensuring commercial compliance, and mentoring a team of estimators and QS staff.
Key Responsibilities : Lead and manage all tender submissions, pricing strategies, and bid processes.
Oversee BOQ preparation, estimates, budgets, and audit reports.
Negotiate and confirm pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate procurement activities and provide commercial oversight on projects.
Support handover processes from estimating to delivery teams.
Mentor and develop junior estimators, QSs, and administrators.
Implement efficient estimating systems and promote best practice across the division.
Drive continuous improvement while fostering a positive workplace culture.
About You : Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (preferred).
Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating or commercial management within civil infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of NZS
Proven experience in structured tendering environments.
Familiarity with estimating software (e.g. Candy) is an advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Excellent organisational ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
A current and clean NZ driver's licence.
