Community Hub Libraries Manager : Manawatu District Council

As Community Hub Libraries Manager, you'll lead and empower three specialist leaders : Content, Digital, and Experience, while holding overall responsibility for the success of the entire facility.
You'll also work closely with the Community Programmes Manager to ensure all services delivered from Te Ahuru Mowai are well-connected, people-focused, and making the most of the hub's potential.
You'll also oversee our network of Community Libraries across the district, ensuring they're well-supported and integrated as part of our connected library service.
This role is about supporting people to succeed, building on what's already thriving, and making sure our community sees the hub as a place to connect, learn, and belong.
What you'll do
Inspire, lead and support specialist leaders to collaboratively deliver excellent services across content, digital, and customer experience.
Take responsibility for the whole facility, ensuring smooth, integrated services across Te Ahuru Mowai.
Build confidence, strong team culture, and a sense of shared purpose.
Encourage continuous improvement and innovation while keeping services people-first.
Strengthen partnerships with iwi, schools, community groups, and sector partners.
Manage planning, budgets, and reporting in a way that keeps things moving forward with no surprises.
What you'll bring
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary, customer-facing teams.
A positive, energetic leadership style that motivates and empowers others.
Strength in operational planning, systems, and budgets.
Great communication skills and cultural awareness.
The ability to balance big picture planning with operational delivery and being present, visible, and approachable.

The salary range midpoint is $102,900.
Salary will be determined by the experience you bring.
