About the role

Sr. Ruby on Rails Engineer (Knowledge) at Aha!

About Aha!

Aha! is the world’s #1 product development software. We help more than 1 million product builders go from discovery to delivery. Our suite includes Roadmaps, Discovery, Ideas, Whiteboards, Knowledge, Teamwork, and Develop. We are a fully remote, self‑funded, profitable SaaS company and a top fully remote workplace.

The Knowledge team

The Knowledge team builds collaborative whiteboards and note editors. We integrate these tools with the Aha! suite and enable collaboration across organizations and external users. Our stack is a Ruby on Rails monolith with Postgres, Redis, and memcached, augmented by a Node.js webserver for real‑time editing and a React front‑end for rich client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Implement new features across the full stack, touching all layers of the MVC as needed.
  • Build deeply interactive reporting interfaces using React.
  • Work proactively with product and UX to refine and iterate on specifications as the feature takes shape.
  • Investigate slow performance and optimize queries to keep Aha! snappy and satisfying.
  • Interface directly with users to quickly squash bugs as part of our customer support rotation.
  • Document components in our style guide to drive consistency.

Qualifications

  • Four+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails.
  • Builder of scalable, efficient, and maintainable architectures.
  • Experience developing features at a high‑growth SaaS company.
  • Active collaborator with product teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, humility, eagerness to learn, and willingness to help others.
  • Benefits

  • Base salary $110,000–$190,000 (U.S. only).
  • Profit sharing and monthly retirement contribution.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Up to 200 hours paid time off per year.
  • 30–90 days paid parental leave and 5–10 days paid care / bereavement leave.
  • $1,000 annual tuition reimbursement and paid learning time.
  • Volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
  • Hiring

We are always hiring for this role and a real human reviews every application. Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Aha! by 2×.
