Our Wellington Intensive-Inpatient service is seekinga parental leave cover for the role of Speech and Language Therapist, full-time,fixed-term (1 year),tojoin ourskilled and supportive inter-professional teamalongside 3 experienced Speechand language Therapists.This role will provide speech and languagetherapy services for clients with acquired brain injury from the immediatepost-acute phase through to community re-integration.

We are seekingNZSTA (New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association) registered Speechand Language Therapists with aminimum of 2-years' experience; working inneurological rehabilitation is preferred, however, open to all candidates basedon experience.You willwork alongside experiencedSLTs,and contribute to key clinical areas including :

cognitive-language and cognitive-communicationassessment, management of expressive and receptive language difficulties,feeding and swallowing, motor-speech, and augmentative-alternativecommunication

implementing and evaluating rehabilitation plans andstrategies

providing education and training to family / whanau

contributing to outcome measures

ongoing training and professional development

Knowledge incognitive-communication disorders, dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria,augmentative-alternative communication devices, and cognitive rehabilitation isrequired.Having tracheostomy management experience would be anadvantage, but not essential.Previous experience in acquired braininjury rehabilitation is highly preferred.
