Due to internal movement, we're seeking an inspiring leader and experienced kaiako to guide Irongate Kindergarten into its next chapter.

This is a wonderful opportunity to lead a dedicated team who are passionate about supporting tamariki to thrive within a culturally rich and inclusive learning environment.

About you

You're a confident leader who values collaboration, open communication, and shared leadership.

You're comfortable guiding and growing kaiako through a strengths-based approach, providing clarity and direction that empowers everyone to contribute their best.

With a strong pedagogical foundation, you'll lead effective practice, foster professional growth, and create an environment where tamariki and kaiako truly flourish.

What you'll bring

Leadership experience or readiness to step into a kaiako matua (head teacher) role

Commitment to Te Whariki and high-quality teaching and learning

Strong relational and communication skills

Ability to build authentic partnerships with whanau and community

Strong ECE compliance knowledge and administration skills

Empathy, humour, and reflective practice in everyday leadership

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

What you'll need

A recognised ECE teaching qualification

Full NZ teacher registration

Legal right to work in New Zealand.
