Quarry Site Supervisor

Overview

Jones Group 2021 Ltd (Jones Quarry) is a locally owned family business operating in Taranaki for over 15 years, with quarries located throughout the Taranaki Region.

Due to increased workload and growth, we are seeking a quarry supervisor with experience in a fast-paced family business, located in Brixton, New Plymouth.

We are looking for an experienced, level-headed operator to help supervise our busy site and support our team in running mobile crushing and screening plants, clean fill operations, and recycling activities.

This role involves coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the site and team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high production standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead quarry operations to meet production targets.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Oversee the maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.

Train and support staff to enhance productivity and safety awareness.

Maintain accurate records and reporting on production and site activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Large machinery operating experience including mobile crushers, screens, diggers, loaders, etc.

Earthmoving experience – planning and procedures.

Leadership and team management skills.

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Experience with heavy machinery and equipment maintenance.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Good customer service and communication skills.

Willing to work longer hours when needed to get the job finished.

Additional Information

A or B grade quarry manager's certification is desirable but not required if the candidate has extensive experience in quarrying, mining, or a similar heavy industry and is willing to work towards certification.
