About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our Information Services team at Hutt City Council.

This role plays a key part in maintaining and supporting the Council's IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and security across our systems and devices.

You'll provide Level 2 technical support, administer databases and hybrid systems, and contribute to projects that improve our digital environment.

Working from our Laings Road offices in Lower Hutt, you'll collaborate with a supportive, forward-thinking team dedicated to enabling great outcomes for our community.

About You

You're a capable IT professional with strong experience in systems administration and desktop support.

You enjoy problem-solving, working collaboratively, and continually improving how things are done.

You'll bring a customer-focused approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support both technical and non-technical users effectively.

You Will Have

Advanced knowledge of workstation support (hardware, software, and peripherals)

Proficiency in Windows Server OS, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory, and Azure Entra ID

Experience with Intune deployment, Defender, and endpoint security management

Familiarity with SQL server systems, backups, and restores

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork skills

Continuous improvement mindset and a desire to learn and grow

(Tertiary study or industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified : Systems Administrator would be advantageous.)
