Te Haeata / The OpportunityWe are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team of finance professionals.You Will Be Responsible Forcompleting monthly, annual, and other financial reporting both for internal and external purposes, including CFISnet reportingassist with the external audit processassist with managing the month end process, including completing month end tasksreview reconciliations and tax returnscontribute to key Government budget requirements, including baseline updates and preparation of Estimates of Appropriationsprovide technical accounting advicesupporting and guiding other team members.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Havedemonstrated experience within the public sector or large complex environment with the ability to influence key stakeholdersprevious experience in Government financial accounting and understanding the Machinery of Government would be advantageousknowledge and demonstrable competence in financial accounting practices and proceduresan ability to analyse technical accounting issues and provide advice to business units in relation to accounting requirements and financial impactsattention to detail and high level of accuracy, along with proven written and oral communication skillsa passion for improving business processes while maintaining a strong internal control environmenta self-starter, with the ability to use initiative, pre-empt information requests and be approachable with a can-do attitudea commitment to building Maori capability - both personally and within the teamholding or working towards being a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent).
