About The Role – Korero Mo Te Turanga
We're looking for a proactive and collaborative Health, Safety and Wellbeing Adviser to join MPI's award-winning team.
You'll play a key role supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people who work across a diverse range of environments including forests, farms, ports, laboratories, and corporate offices.
You'll be supported to learn and grow, with shadowing and development.
Be part of an award-winning team recognised at this year's Safeguard Health and Safety awards in first place for the best health and safety governance initiative.
Responsibilities
Triage and respond to reported health and safety incidents, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.
Provide general health and safety advice and support across MPI.
Assist with the development and implementation of key initiatives and team priorities.
Build and sustain positive working relationships with MPI staff, external providers, and other government agencies.
Support effective partnerships with iwi, hapu, and Maori organisations to ensure culturally appropriate engagement.

A tertiary qualification is helpful, but we're more interested in your transferable skills, especially your ability to meet deadlines, write clearly, and apply yourself.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Friendly interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage others.
A collaborative adaptable approach, with a focus on results and continuous learning.
A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience).
About The Team – Mo To Matou Ropu
We're a Wellington-based team of ten that work collaboratively right across the organisation to implement and maintain organisational frameworks, provide advice, support, and embed risk management into our practices and culture.
We're a close-knit group with a good sense of humour.
