Motivate and support youth at our well-regarded NGO

32 hours per fortnight

Odyssey House Christchurch provides treatment and services for those experiencing issues with alcohol and drugs, mental illness and related issues.

Program Details

Our Youth Residential Programme supports youth who are living with us for 3-4 months receiving schooling, treatment and recreation activities. You will work alongside another staff member to engage in scheduled recreation activities, day to day activities and education. There are meals to prepare and activities to attend, so you have to be prepared to pitch in and engage positively and to the programme schedule.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Ability to work with youth at risk
• Experience in youth work or relevant experience in alcohol & drug treatment, or studying towards a qualification
• Ability to deal with difficult situations with a calm and professional manner.
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work in weekends. Shifts are Week 1, Saturday and Sunday 3.30pm to 11.30pm, Week 2, Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Sunday 3.30pm to 11.30pm
• A clean and full NZ driver’s license
