Key AccountabilitiesWork with the team to ensure the maintenance schedule / calendar is followed and records are updated accurately.Assist with writing and developing new NOPs or Policies as directed by the Maintenance Manager.Support the maintenance manager and the wider team in ensuring resources are used efficiently, minimising waste and maintaining environmental responsibility.Abide by the work schedule and roster as set by the Maintenance Manager, ensuring you clock in and out on time.Equipment, Machinery & VehiclesTreat equipment, machinery and vehicles with care, ensuring they are used correctly and returned to their allocated locations after use.Keep maintenance equipment, machinery and vehicles out of public view where possible, considering the customer perspective.Plant and PropertyFollow operational policies and procedures to ensure optimal use of all property and plant.Take pride in the presentation of Tekapo Springs, considering the customer point of view and maintaining property to the standard expected by customers and management.Support external contractors engaged at Tekapo Springs where needed.Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the Plant operates at peak efficiency.Work within the Maintenance schedule to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out effectively and efficiently, minimising downtime for the business.Seasonal ActivitiesCarry out snow grooming as required to ensure winter Snow Tube performance for customers.Drive the Zamboni to resurface the ice rink as required to maintain an ideal surface for customers.Collaborate with the broader business to minimise disruption from ice and snow clearing and salting.When weather permits and as directed, assist with snow making.Security & ResponseWhen required by the Maintenance Manager, be available to respond to Code 9 callouts.Skills & TrainingAttend relevant training courses as directed.Identify new developments in relevant industries and technology in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.Keep qualifications up to date and renew as required.OtherCarry out any other responsibilities as may be reasonably required from time to time.Act in the company's best interests at all times.Health & SafetyLead by example, adhering to all company Health & Safety policies and relevant legislation and industry standards.Take precautions to ensure property, machinery, vehicles and plant management policies create a safe workplace for staff and customers.Contribute to keeping hazard and risk records updated and accurate for all maintenance elements.Follow hazard identification processes for Tekapo Springs and ensure adherence at all times.Ensure pathways and driving areas are maintained for safe walking and driving surfaces.Key RelationshipsInternalMaintenance team membersPurpose of relationshipTo perform your role in a timely and safety-conscious manner.To identify potential problems early and bring them to the Maintenance Manager's attention for prioritising and repair.Knowledge And SkillsWheels, tracks and Forks EndorsementSafety-focused with a mature mindsetPractical problem solver adept with plant and equipment and quick to learn new practicesExcellent ability to co-operate and work within a team on a 7-day roster, with on-call support as requiredStrong self-motivation and ability to work unsupervisedConfident and experienced with a wide variety of tools and equipmentAble to drive a variety of vehiclesExperience operating in the tourism industry, particularly Aquatic, Snow and Ice RinksPersonal AttributesHigh level of professionalism, integrity and loyaltyPassion, enthusiasm, energy and a strong personal driveTechnical mindset capable of learning and implementing complex systemsAlignment with the vision, values and culture of Tekapo SpringsNatural orientation towards change, improvement and new ideasDesire to keep growing and learning
