Behind every great journey is a team of people shaping strategy, driving performance, and supporting a thriving, future-fit airline.Procurement plays a key role in connecting our purpose to real-world outcomes, influencing a spend base of approximately$3.3 billionacross strategic, operational, and customer-focused categories.The Role You'll PlayYou will : Lead a high-performing and highly engaged team of Procurement Specialists, directly supporting their professional growth and craft masteryBe a member of Air New Zealand's Procurement Leadership Team (PLT), chaired by Air New Zealand's Head of ProcurementHelp set the wider Digital Procurement team's strategic priorities as well as play an active role as a key commercial advisor to digital business areasLead procurement for assigned digital categoriesBuild strong, collaborative relationships with passionate internal stakeholders and external partnersDesign and execute, end-to-end, high quality procurement strategies that deliver tangible and sustainable value and elevate employee and customer experience across our global networkNegotiate and manage supplier contracts and relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and innovationDrive positive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) outcomesProactively identify and mitigate supply chain risksWhat You'll BringWe're seeking a commercially astute professional who bring a balance of leadership, technical skill, strategic thinking, and relationship capability.You will have : Proven leadership experience (2+ years) in motivating, coaching and growing commercial teamsDeep expertise in technology, understanding commercial nuances of vendor-provided infrastructure hardware, software (SaaS) and digital servicesStrong procurement skills across sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier management – or equivalent commercial skills gained in related professions such as Legal, Commercial, or FinanceProven ability to influence and engage stakeholders up to Chief levelA collaborative mindset with excellent communication and presentation skillsA results-driven approach with the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environmentExperienced in using digital tools and data to develop actionable insightsExperience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (aviation, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or energy sectors ideal)MCIPS certification is preferred but not essential.
This role isbased across our Airport Campus near Auckland Airport and Hub in Fanshawe Street, Auckland City.
You must be able to work in both locations.
