The role is based at Te Toka Tumai - Auckland City Hospital
The role has a number of key relationships with various senior level clinical, cultural, management and professional positions within the organisation and across wider services within the North Island.

About the Role
The North Island Sarcoma Senior Social Worker will be an experienced practitioner who will develop expertise in the specialty area of sarcoma. As a key member of the North Island Sarcoma service, you will contribute to service development and foster strong connections with local and regional services to enhance access, coordination, and equity of care across the North Island. You will also work collaboratively with the wider North Island Sarcoma Service multidisciplinary team members to develop and maintain high quality service delivery in line with operational and strategic direction.This role involves working with patients diagnosed with sarcoma across the North Island, with surgical management overseen at Te Toka Tumai. The role focuses on providing client / family / whānau-centred care within an interdisciplinary team. The service supports patients across the cancer continuum, from diagnosis through to survivorship and palliative care.
About you
Fully qualified and registered Social Worker with current Annual Practising Certificate
Strong clinical expertise, leadership, and service development experience
Passionate about improving patient outcomes and shaping a new service
Someone whos
driven, innovative, and committed
to patient-centred care
Full, clean Class 1 drivers licence
