Real time Analyst (105 Workforce Management)

As a Real Time Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing and optimising the NZ Police 105 workforce to ensure efficient and effective response to our operational demand as it arises. You will use data analysis, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics to assess workforce needs and adjust accordingly for our 105 centres. You will provide regular, purposeful reports to guide future decision making. You will also work closely with the 105 Managers to identify and address workforce‑related issue and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Within your role you will :

  • Provide support to 105 Comms including providing expert advice and guidance with targeted reporting.
  • Be a crucial and amiable link between the 105 centres and 105 Workforce Management Team
  • Maintain ownership of time critical tasks
  • Build relationships with 105 Comms Centres nationally.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Key Accountabilities :

  • Manage call queues in real time in an operational call centre environment.
  • Record daily abstractions and create real time analysis of call volumes and service delivery of our core business.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in 105 communication centres.
  • Work with ICT and other partners to resolve issues and bring knowledge and expertise to future IVR builds within the 105 communications centres.
  • Liaise with Communication Centre Team Leaders, Emergency group Daily Planners, WFM Teams including 105 WFM to ensure we are delivering the best possible outcomes for our business and our people.
  • Provide insightful reporting on workforce performance metrics, including staffing levels, productivity, and cost‑effectiveness to better inform future decision‑making.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance 105 workforce efficiency and effectiveness.
  • General duties daily will be to record sick leave, assist with short notice leave advice, and always ensure adequate coverage of the communications floor.

    We are looking for someone who can :

  • Provide Excel‑based skills, with an understanding of call centre operations and data.
  • Multi‑task, work well under pressure and complete all work with accuracy.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment and often require instant actions to counter immediate demands.
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with floor supervisors through constructive engagement.
  • Work shifts if required. This would not include any graveyard shifts.
  • Recognise the value of different perspectives, treat everyone with the respect they deserve. You strive to seek the understanding of and consider the experience of those you partner with.
  • Experience in workforce analysis, preferably in the emergency services or 24 / 7 environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including proficiency in statistical modelling, data analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and workforce management tools and software. Experience with Alvaria Workforce (formerly known as Aspect Workforce Management) would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and regulations related to workforce management.
  • This role is Individual Contributor / Emerging Leader level. You can refer to Indicators for Success for further information on the requirements.

    This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $80,295 and $83,973 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
