Job description

We are looking for Chef for a busy Indian Restaurant.

Minimum 30 hours per week (Plus an opportunity for overtime)

Number of positions - One

Wages- $25.00 to $27.00 / hr

Full-time, Permanent

Location : New Plymouth

Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy Restaurant / Takeaway in New Plymouth.

Job duties :

Performing all the essential food preparation, seasoning and cooking
Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment like grills and Tandoor
Maintain and ensure food quality at all times
Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
Maintaining hygiene at all times
Train other kitchen staff whenever required
Stocktaking and reporting it to the Chef
Clean and keep the kitchen as required by NZ standards

Candidate requirements :

At least two to three years of relevant experience in an Indian restaurant / takeaway

Experience in preparing Indian Cuisine

Knowledge of grinding and mixing Indian spices will be an advantage

Experience in Tandoori or Curry style of cooking
