It is more than a job; it is an opportunity to provide invaluable support, led by the people you will be supporting.We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Support Workers for our 24 / 7 spinal injury complex care service user.ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with our service user to provide support as they go about their daily tasksAssisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)Assisting with household management and meal preparationAssisting with accessing the communityBowel, Bladder, and Catheter caresMoving and handling hoists and manual transfersMedication supportEnsuring the service user's comfort, safety, and well-being at all timesJob Location : Christchurch, CanterburyEmployment Type : Part-TimeWe offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.Days of work : As this is community-based work, 24 / 7 rotating rosters would be involved.

It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites) : Understanding of spinal injury care protocols and procedures is advantageousIdeally prior personal care experience is preferredPrevious experience in complex cares (for example bowel & catheters) is preferred (comprehensive training will be provided)Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when requiredA Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial (comprehensive training can be provided)Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)Flexibility to work on a rotating rosterLegal right to work in New Zealand is a mustAbility to drive a mobility vanBenefits | Ki te huangaPay Band : $24.13 - $30.78 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
