Do you have the ‘main ingredients’ to become our next Bakers Assistant?

Joining at a time of expansion, it is a busy and exciting time for our team. Based at our Tannery location, we are looking for someone who will compliment our strong team of dedicated specialty bakers. This opportunity would suit those that for those who are having a passion for bread products, and are looking for a career pathway to develop their own skills further.

  • Permanent full time position
  • Rostered 8 hour shifts, could include working across either early mornings, afternoons or evenings
  • Weekend availability required e.g. at least one weekend day per week

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Mixing
  • Cut and shape dough
  • Baking
  • Keeping workplace clean and organised
  • Working to a consistent pace to ensure products are ready on time
  • Supporting the production team
  • Overall this role exists to ensure that all products are produced consistently to the highest standard to meet customer expectations. We are looking for someone who has a passion for our products, who is keen to learn, and enthusiastic about delivering a great end product to the customer.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Any experience in artisan bakery making similar style of products (sourdough bread, French-style viennoiserie) would be preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Safe and capable lifting skills from working in physical, busy environment
  • Can work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • This role would suit someone who takes upmost pride in their work, and is looking for the opportunity to work alongside our senior bakers to improve their own craft skills.

    If your experience is in a supermarket production environment, are a chef, or cake maker from another industry / discipline, it is unlikely we are going to be a good fit for you. This role will primarily be focused on the art and science of artisan bread making.
