About the Role

The Psychologist for Infant, Child, and Adolescent Services provides specialist psychological assessment and treatment for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

This involves individual assessments and interventions, involving primary caregivers where appropriate, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

The role supports the development and maintenance of the Strengths Model Recovery Approach within the Mental Health and Addiction Service.

About the Team / Service / Location

This position is based in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team at the hospital campus on High Street.

The team comprises part-time psychologists who provide assessment and therapy to children and youth.

The team employs a holistic, multidisciplinary approach and maintains strong links with schools, NGOs, and community services.

About You

The successful applicant will have experience with assessments, including psychometric and neuropsychological testing, and be able to develop clinical formulations and recommend effective interventions.

They should also be capable of evaluating treatment efficacy.

This role is open to registered New Zealand Clinical Psychologists holding a current APC.

Salary Range

The salary is governed by a Collective Agreement and will depend on relevant experience, in accordance with the Pay Scale.
