Wind Technician

Overview

JMS is seeking Wind Technicians to support projects throughout the United States. Wind Techs are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of wind turbines and their components. This safety-sensitive role includes performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues and closely adhering to JMS Safety policies and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow JMS safety standards on-site, prioritizing and demonstrating safe behavior
• Install and terminate power, control and communication cabling within the tower, including nacelle, hub and base sections
• Install junction boxes, cable trays, conduits and grounding systems according to design specifications
• Perform electrical work for power distribution and interconnection to ensure seamless integration of renewable energy systems
• Climb and perform work at heights safely within wind turbine towers, following strict fall protection and safety protocols
• Collaborate with commissioning and electrical teams to support energization and system verification processes
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents specific to renewable energy projects to ensure accurate routing and connection of components
• Conduct continuity and insulation resistance testing to verify the integrity of installed wiring and components
• Perform and document quality assurance checks according to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and project standards
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, materials used and any changes or issues encountered
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring issues and component failures during installation and testing
• Adhere to safety protocols, including lockout / tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and job site hazard assessments
• Comply with OSHA, NFPA 70E and site-specific safety requirements in all daily activities and tasks
• Other duties as assigned.
