We aspire to provide high qualityinpatient care to patients with acute mental health needs and / or complex age-relatedhealth conditions.
We work in partnership with our patients, their families,the clinical team and community carers and supports to achieve the bestpossible health outcomes.Casualstaff need to be available for all shifts (morning, afternoons and nights) andfor weekends and school holidays.

You will work alongside ourmultidisciplinary team consisting of specialist nurses, health care assistants,occupational therapist, physio, social worker, psychiatrist and psychologist.About youYou will have current NCNZregistration and practising certificate, with no conditions that exclude MentalHealth Scope of Practice, and a minimum of one year's post-registration nursingexperience is desirable.You will have knowledge of : Physical and mental disorders commonlyexperienced in older personsContemporary treatment approachesincluding person-centred and trauma informed care, sensory modulation, andnon-pharmacological interventionsTherapeutic use of psychiatricmedicationsHolistic mental health and riskassessment and care planningMental Health (Compulsory Assessment andTreatment) Act, 1992PPPR Act - Welfare GuardianshipYour skills will include : Well-developed interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively inmulti-disciplinary teamAbility to work effectively with patientswho have challenging behavioursWorking atHealth New ZealandHealth NewZealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for thepeople of New Zealand.
