In this role, you'll support Maori turoro (patients) and their whanau to feel safe, understood, and cared for during their time in ED.
You'll help ensure that te ao Maori, tikanga, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles are embedded in the care we provide.Provide whanau-centred and culturally safe support for Maori patients in the Emergency Department.Advocate for Maori health needs and help whanau navigate the hospital system.Uphold tikanga Maori and offer cultural guidance to ED staff.Contribute to improving equity and health outcomes for Maori in emergency care.This is a fast-paced environment where compassion, calmness, and strong communication skills are essential.About YouYour skills will include : A strong understanding of te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori.A calm, caring presence and ability to support whanau during times of stress.A genuine commitment to improving hauora and equity for tamariki Maori.Relevant qualifications or experience in Maori health, social services, community work, or child / family support are an advantage.However we want to see the real you in your application and welcome the real you on board if you come and work with us.
