Mo te turanga | About the role

Lead a technically strong and collaborative Transport Planning team.

Provide expert advice to senior leaders, councillors, and external partners.

Champion regional transport initiatives including FutureProof, UNISA, and the Waikato Regional Transportation Model.

Coordinate and support the Regional Transport Committee and FutureProof Public Transport Subcommittee.

Manage budgets, work programmes, and contribute to strategic planning.

Foster partnerships with iwi, local and central government, and other stakeholders.

You'll be an experienced leader with a strong background in Transport Planning and Policy.

You'll bring :

Strong communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.

Applied experience with the Land Transport Management Act, RMA, and LGA.

Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to apply te ao Maori in a local government context.

Mo nga pukenga | Qualifications and experience

A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Policy, or Environmental Management.

At least 3 years' experience leading teams, ideally in local government.

Business case and Project Management qualifications (desirable).
