We are seeking a locum Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from February - June

• to support our team of eleven consultants at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern.

Our department supports a maternity unit with an antenatal and postnatal area with approximately 20 beds, operating theatre, and antenatal and outpatient obstetric clinics.

Dunedin Hospital has a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit.

The service is supported by a team of experienced midwives, obstetrics, gynaecology, and colposcopy nurses.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide consultant led antenatal, gynaecology and colposcopy clinic services as well as working in :

maternity

surgical wards

operating theatre

early pregnancy clinic

the emergency department.

\There will also be a requirement to provide outlying clinics and support of rural maternity units.

On-call duties include :

responsibility for labour and birthing

acute antenatal and gynaecological assessments and admissions

responsibility of all inpatient acute or from elective surgery after hours.

As a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for us, you will have a personal commitment to providing an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a tight knit team.

About you

require prior experience as a consultant, fellow or senior registrar

be accredited by RANZCOG

hold registration (or be eligible for registration) as a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand

need to be certified to provide colposcopy services.
