Our client Dunlop Builders is an award winning architectural luxury home building company based in Wanaka. Delivering bespoke award winning homes of the highest quality. With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the financial management of high‑end builds, from tendering and pricing through to final accounts. Working closely with site managers, architects, and clients, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on budget without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage budgets, estimates, and cost plans
  • Regularly visit sites and provide client‑focused solutions
  • Handle progress claims, variations, and final accounts
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting
  • Support site managers and liaise with architects and clients
  • Provide management oversight on projects, contract management and ensuring subcontractors adhere to timelines and standards.
  • Client liaison, relationship and stakeholder management

About You

  • Previous experience as a QS in high end residential or architectural builds is required
  • Strong knowledge of NZ building contracts and procurement
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Confident communicator with client‑facing experience
  • Must have relevant QS qualification or experience
  • Proficiency in software & systems
  • 5 yrs min experience in similar role
  • Living in Wanaka or willing to re‑locate (Relocation assistance is available)
