Mō te tūnga | About the role
Defence Commercial Services (DCS) leads and enables the wider NZDF commercial function; including procurement planning, sourcing, contracting, strategic supplier relationship and contract management.You will be part of a supportive and professional team to deliver a variety of tasks within the procurement lifecycle (plan, source, manage).Key tasks include :
Lead sourcing processes to engage suppliers.
Establish new contracts and manage contract changes.
Provide commercial and procurement advice.
Practice a continuous improvement approach across lifecycle activities to provide innovative solutions and minimise risk.You'll play a key role in contributing to the NZDF procurement and commercial functions, which affect the capacity for NZDF to undertake military operations. What we do matters.

You will be working in the Wellington CBD. There is an option to have a flexible working arrangement and work from home up to two days a week.Applications may be reviewed upon receipt. We're looking for a team player to join the Capability / Logistics team within DCS; you'll have a proven track record in delivery of optimal procurement solutions and engaging successfully with customers and key stakeholders.You will be passionate about what you do and enjoy the challenge of delivering customer-focussed solutions. Your communication skills include being able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders with ease, with written work to a high standard. You'll be proactive, thoughtful and organised. You'll have demonstrated experience in delivery of end-to-end procurement outcomes, leading sourcing processes and preparation of contracts.Your experience will include the following :
A sound understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle process, the Government Procurement Rules and best practice procurement behaviour.
Work within the public sector.
