About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Tutor to join our Psychology Programme, where your passion for teaching will make a real impact. In this teaching-focused role, you\'ll lead and support learning across lectures and laboratories, bringing content to life for students enrolled in PSYCH100 : Brain, Behaviour and Cognition and PSYCH101 : Social Psychology, Health and Well-being.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating assessments, managing paper administration, and working closely with academic staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience. With no research obligations, your focus will be entirely on student success. You\'ll also have the opportunity to mentor others and contribute to a collaborative, supportive academic environment.

Salary ranges from $79,211 to $95,174 per year, pro-rated to 0.5 FTE, depending on your skills, knowledge, and experience. This part-time role (18.75 hours per week) is based at our Hillcrest Campus.

You’re an experienced tertiary educator with a postgraduate qualification in psychology (a PhD is a plus) and a passion for creating exceptional learning experiences. You have proven teaching skills, a sharp eye for accurate assessment, and the organisational know-how to keep courses running smoothly. Confident with technology and adaptable to new tools, you thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a proactive, student-centred approach. Te Wānanga o Ngā Kete the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences (ALPSS) is a large and dynamic Division that includes Te Kura Toi the School of Arts, Te Kura Whatu Oho Mauri the School of Psychological and Social Sciences, and the School of Law, Politics, and Philosophy. The Division also has two research institutes : Te Ngira the Institute for Population Research (IPR) and Te Puna Haumaru the New Zealand Institute for Security and Crime Science (NZISCS).
