Area Sales Manager – North Island – New Zealand

Preferred candidate must be a New Zealand citizen or hold New Zealand work rights.

We are offering a permanent, full‑time, home‑office based role (starting January 2026) covering the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne regions. Due to local and regional travel, the role includes use of a Tool of Trade vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute territory plans to achieve sales and profit targets and expand market share.
  • Consistent planning and relationship management of a customer base.
  • Develop new business opportunities.
  • Present and promote product releases and promotional activities to build brand awareness.
  • Provide training on all products within the range internally and externally to all stakeholders.
  • Gather and report market trends, activities, and competitor information.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and develop initiatives to close gaps or optimize new opportunities.
  • Attend trade events, new store openings, and scheduled training.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience and success.
  • Planning, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to uphold and execute all sales excellence processes and standards.
  • Power tools / hardware / trade experience (highly desirable).
  • Experience training and demonstrating the product range to stakeholders.
  • High level of market, competitor, and product knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Experience using CRM programs.
  • Web‑based reporting using Tableau or similar tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Teams.
  • High attention to detail and self‑discipline.
  • Exposure to the Construction industry (advantageous).
  • Availability for regular travel as required.
