We are seeking a passionate and dedicated literacy enrichment teacher and coordinator to join our learning support team on a part-time, permanent basis, from the start of
This role involves designing, delivering, and leading a targeted Literacy Enrichment Programme.
You will work collaboratively with the Learning Support and classroom teams to provide differentiated, engaging instruction tailored to students requiring additional support in spelling, reading fluency, and comprehension.
We are looking for someone who :
Has a clear sense of calling to Christian education
Holds a registered teaching qualification and a current practising certificate (essential)
Has experience in learning support or literacy enrichment
Demonstrates strong skills in differentiation and instructional design
Possesses excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
Is willing to grow in te ao Maori and support the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Key responsibilities :
Support the College's special Christian character in all aspects of the role
Screen and identify learners based on assessment data and prior placement results
Develop and teach engaging, tailored literacy lessons in alignment with NZ Curriculum
Monitor and report on learner progress with clear improvement goals
Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and whanau
Collaborate closely with the Head of Learning Support, SENCo, and teaching staff.
Applicants are required to have an active personal Christian faith and a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of Bethlehem College shall be a condition of appointment, as provided for in the school's Integration Agreement and Schedule 6, Clause 47 of the Education and Training Act
