Program Director - Bachelor of Art and Design at Media Design School (Strayer) – full-time, permanent, on-site in Auckland. We are a diverse team that values bold, creative, and courageous work with flexible arrangements to bring out best performance.

Are you a visionary leader who can shape the future of media, design, and visual effects education?

Our goal is to lift student achievements on the global stage through industry awards, international rankings, and graduates recognised as leaders in their craft. This is a leadership role combining industry expertise with academic excellence to deliver world-class curriculum, inspire peak performance, and expand international reputation. You will champion a high industry immersion learning model that differentiates our programmes and ensures authentic, career-ready education. You will promote Media Design School at Strayer and its flagship faculty as ‘hero’ programmes in the creative industries, strengthening our brand with students and industry.

Principal Accountabilities

In this role you will :

  • Provide academic leadership, ensuring quality, accreditation, and innovation across your programme portfolio
  • Drive industry-integrated learning strategies that set our graduates apart
  • Lead and develop a high-performing academic team focused on teaching excellence, student care, and employability outcomes
  • Build strong and enduring relationships with industry partners to enhance learning and graduate success
  • Ensure compliance with all academic and professional standards, meeting and exceeding NZQA and industry accreditation requirements
  • Introduce innovative teaching practices and emerging technologies that keep our programmes at the forefront of the discipline

Who you are

You are a passionate leader who can bring creativity, industry insight, and academic rigour to a world-class 3D animation and VFX programme. You will have :

  • Significant industry experience in art and design, visual effects, 3D, or related creative fields
  • Proven academic leadership skills, including curriculum development and quality assurance
  • A clear and compelling vision for the future of education in the creative technologies space
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage across academia, industry, and community
  • A relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent industry expertise
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing academic teams

  • Certified copies of academic qualifications required
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. All applicants must be a Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.
  • This is a full-time, permanent position based at the Media Design School in Auckland and is an on-site position.
