About the role

We are currently recruiting a part-time Library Assistant (30 hours per week, which includes 3 hours on a Saturday morning) to join our library service, where you'll be based at one of our libraries located in Featherston, Martinborough or Greytown.

Our library teams take pride in being responsive to the needs of our residents, customers, and wider community. We’re looking for someone who can work across multiple library environments, brings strong attention to detail, and fosters a warm, welcoming, customer-focused experience.

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team where no two days are the same. Your contribution will have a meaningful impact—from assisting with enquiries and technology support to helping create inclusive and engaging library spaces.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone who :

  • Is passionate about providing exceptional customer service
  • Has experience working in a library (preferred, but not essential)
  • Is a team player who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Is confident using computers and comfortable assisting customers with technology
  • Can produce reports and respond to data requests within tight timeframes
  • Is highly motivated, well-organised, and enjoys working collaboratively
