Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience department has an opportunity for a Project Manager (known internally as Healthy Waters Specialist) within the Flood Projects Delivery Team (part of the Design and Delivery Team). Reporting to the Flood Projects Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for managing the planning, design and construction of a portfolio of stormwater-related infrastructure projects.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on :

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project briefs and business cases
• Procure and manage external suppliers and internal specialists for the design and construction of projects
• Act as “Client’s Representative” on professional services contracts and “Principal’s Representative” on NZS 3910 : 2013 construction contracts
• Manage project risks and provide regular progress reporting to senior management and elected members
• Enhance council’s reputation by always behaving in a professional and collaborative manner
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Work with Healthy Waters’ operational and planning staff, other Council departments and other members of the Council family - Watercare Services, Auckland Transport and others - to achieve great outcomes for Auckland

This role requires experience in similar project management or engineering roles, with a sound understanding of contract and administration management. You will have previously delivered similar infrastructure projects, preferably in a public sector organisation and have excellent stakeholder rapport and good communication skills.
