This role involves creating detailed medical and dental illustrations to support a series of short animations. The focus will be on visualizing complex biological subjects such as bacteria, the bloodstream, the throat, the heart, and diseased heart conditions with valvular damage. The illustrations will be used to clearly communicate medical pathways and concepts, contributing to educational and professional resources. The position is open to illustrators based in New Zealand, with the flexibility to work remotely. This is a project‑based opportunity with the potential for future assignments.
Deliverables
- Produce three sets of high-quality medical and dental illustrations, accurately depicting specified biological subjects.
- Collaborate with animators to ensure illustrations are suitable for animation sequences.
- Support the creation of four animation sets, each ranging from 5 to 15 seconds, by providing clear, adaptable artwork.
- Revise illustrations based on feedback to meet project standards and educational objectives.
- Deliver all artwork in required digital formats and within agreed timelines.
Requirements
Proven experience in medical or scientific illustration, with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work.>Proficiency in digital illustration tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent.Ability to interpret complex medical concepts and translate them into clear, engaging visuals.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in representing anatomical and pathological features.Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project managers and animators.Must be based in New Zealand; on‑site presence is not required, but residency is essential.Availability to complete the project within the specified timeframe and openness to potential future work.Seniority level
