This role reports to the Data & Analytics Lead.

The Data Governance Lead will play a key role in building Avanti's data governance function from the ground up.

This hands-on role will help improve how data is collected, managed, and used across the business, ensuring high-quality, trusted data is available to support decision-making and business performance.

You'll work closely with the Data & Analytics Lead, Finance, Technology, and other teams to implement practical, scalable data governance processes, improve reporting and analytics, and embed data literacy across the organisation.

As a Data Governance Lead, you can expect to :

Design and roll out data governance processes that fit where we are right now - practical, achievable, and built for Avanti's current stage of growth

Get hands-on with data collection and organisation, making sure everything from multiple sources is accurate, consistent, and actually useful for the team.

Keep our Power BI dashboards and reporting tools running smoothly so Finance and operations always have what they need to make great decisions

Jump into data analytics projects and help transform raw numbers into real insights that drive smarter pricing, profitability analysis, ECL modelling, and funding decisions.

Work closely with IT, Finance, and external vendors to make sure data flows seamlessly and everyone has access to what they need

Be the go-to person when urgent data needs pop up - quickly assess what's happening and deliver reliable solutions fast

Help colleagues across the business build their data confidence through coaching and support, making data governance feel natural rather than a chore.

Create a solid learning and development framework that helps everyone get better at using and understanding data

Play a key role in bringing our data strategy to life, keeping everyone aligned on what matters most and why it matters

When the opportunity's right, contribute to AI and machine learning initiatives that deliver real business value all built on solid data governance foundations.

We're looking for in the successful candidate :

Tertiary qualification in computer science, data, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent practical experience

Proven experience in data analytics, data science, or AI roles

Strong knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, and compliance frameworks with implementation experience

Familiarity with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Coalesce, Fivetran, Azure, or similar cloud environments preferred)

Proficient in Power BI or Tableau

Experience delivering data / analytics solutions with external partners or vendors

Strong communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability

Familiarity with Predictive and Generative AI, including LLMs and their governance policies

Working knowledge of data governance tools (Informatica, Collibra, or Coalesce)
