A wild and beautiful ninety-mile beach is nearby to this small hospital, and the town offers a melting pot of cultures. You can make an impact in the 28-bed hospital that has a maternity unit, modern isolation room, and occupational therapy department. Much of the hospital has recently undergone renovations to improve working conditions for doctors.

Chill out with a relaxed lifestyle. Visit museums featuring Maori history, culture, weaving and carving or go 4WD, horse riding, for a swim, surf, fish or sail.
