In this role, you will be responsible for managing an efficient and exceptional service experience for our guests.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example.We offer a variety of shifts including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Weekend availability is required.This is a full time position (minimum 30 hours per week) based at Sudima Kaikoura.

The hourly rate for this role is $28.00.Responsibilities | Nga haepapaThe Food & Beverage Duty Manager is responsible for the management of the day to day operations of the food and beverage department in the hotel.

The responsibilities of this role are to : Manage the Food and Beverage department operations while on shiftDrive revenue to achieve and exceed budgeted revenueAccount for stock utilised in the operation and order all stock through company purchasing system as requiredPrepare daily banking and cash flow reportsConduct daily Duty Manager reports for the Hotel ManagerConduct and / or supervise cash handling and banking proceduresControlling costs being fully aware of forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining standards.Continuously work to improve the efficiency of the restaurant by optimism productivity with the lowest possible cost.Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of Liquor Licensing Laws and Host Responsibility.Ensure that all colleagues understand and uphold the hotel's code of responsible service of alcoholEnsure compliance of Health and Safety regulations including the timely recording and investigation of any accidents, injuries, or near missesCommunicate effectively with subordinates and managers.Recruit, train and manage the restaurant teamHandle and resolve guest complaints efficientlyCollaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager on menu creation, planning, design and deliveryConduct effective shift briefings to ensure all staff are aware of VIPs, special occasions, daily specials, and upselling opportunitiesA commitment to being a reliable member of the teamBe able to work 5.00am to 10.00pm with a roster that covers seven days a week including weekends and holidays.A NZ Diploma, or 3 years experience in a relevant role in the Hospitality and Tourism sector may substitute for the qualification.Ability to work unsupervised, on your own and as part of a teamYou will have : A valid General Manager License (GM License) and a LCQ qualificationWork as part of a team to deliver exceptional service and dining experiencesAbility to remain calm and composed under pressure, willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a memorable experienceOutstanding communication and customer service skills with strong attention to detailDesire to learn and grow within the hospitality industryPrior experience in bartending and barista skillsFlexibility to work outside normal hours as required (including early morning shifts, late finishes, weekends, and public holidays)Availability to work on a rotating rosterWe are all valued | He kura te tangataDiscounts at our hotels, restaurants and spas across our networkStaff, family and friends rates at our hotelsMeals on duty and uniform providedExcellent reward & recognition eventsService and anniversary gifts and benefitsWellbeing programme including Health insurance discountsPaid training and individual Employee Development PlansTraining towards NZQA qualifications and our very own online digital learning platformFree Life Insurance, Digital Will & Best Doctors teleservice after 3 months of employmentNau mai, haere mai, tauti mai!
