Mo te turanga | About the Role
Van Asch Service is a double staffed house located in Halswell at the Hohepa Farm; we're looking for an experienced Support Worker who work well in team environment.
At Van Asch Service you will be supporting four men aged between 40 to 73 alongside a colleague.
A bit about the people we support at Van Asch Service :
Adam very sensory, silent and choses to be nonverbal.
Enjoys going for long walks and cafe visits.
Brendan likes to be active and is nonverbal, anything to get himself up and out of the house
Joey loves watching you tube and supporting his favourite rugby team the highlanders!
Mike describes himself as a real Kiwi bloke who loves going out for a beer and a laugh.
His family is very important to him, and he talks about them often.
When he was younger, he enjoyed going hunting and fishing with his father.
You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongsidethis personfocussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.
Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth.
You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks.
You will be passionate about supporting and extending people's ability to access and be part of their wider community.
