Job description

At Summerset we are here to bring the best of life to our residents. To do this, we know we need to take care of our people to form a team who are strong enough to care, operate as one team, and strive to do their best.

We are looking for exceptional Caregivers to join our Taupo village. Ideally you will have experience in aged care and may even have Caregiver qualifications too. But more important to us will be your genuine love for all kinds of people from all walks of life.

This is a busy and diverse role, assisting residents with their day-to-day activities such as showering, delivering meals and much more. Therefore, you will need to be resilient, kind and patient, while a good level of fitness will prove useful for delivering the best in personal care.

This role includes many great benefits e.g. a weekend rate of an additional 40 percent of the hourly rate.

You will also need to be a team player and able to manage your time well in order to complete all your tasks.

To recognise the important work that you do for our residents, we offer the following:

  • An enthusiastic and supportive team that is fun to be part of
  • $23.84 - $29.95 per hour based on your qualifications
  • social sporting teams, meal allowances, clothing allocation and discounts at a range of suppliers plus much more
  • Further Careerforce education, even if you are new to the profession we promise to help you achieve a Level 2 (Foundation Skills) National Certificate in Health, Disability and Aged Support within a year of service

If you, or someone you know, are strong enough to care, then we would love to hear from you.

Due to NZ Immigration requirements we are obliged to consider candidates that already have the right to work in NZ for this role first. Due to this we may not be able to support a visa application for this role. This role may close early due to an increased number of applications - apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!

The safety of our residents and staff is important to us. For this reason, we require all our employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19 before commencing work at Summerset.

Please note, only suitable applicants will be contacted.
