The opportunity

We are seeking a skilled technician or fitter who has developed their skills as a hydraulics specialist. You will work on hydraulic systems and components within the heavy transport manufacturing environment. Your role will involve diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing hydraulic equipment as part of trailer builds, module systems, and other specialised transport solutions.

Key responsibilities :

  • Diagnose faults in hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, cylinders, hoses, fittings etc. on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Repair, rebuild, or replace hydraulic components to high quality standards
  • Install hydraulic systems / components in new trailer / module builds
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections of hydraulic circuits
  • Interpret hydraulic schematics and documentation
  • Collaborate with other trades (welders, fitters, fabricators, electrical) to integrate hydraulic work into full assembly projects
  • Maintain good records and documentation of work done (e.g. job cards, test results)
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards

What we\'re looking for

  • Relevant trade qualification in fitter, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven hydraulics experience on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Strong fault finding skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude and precision in work
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable with working in a heavy manufacturing environment where you will be handling large components and assemblies
  • Good communication skills
  • Sound work ethic
  • Clean, valid driver\'s licence
