Every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.The RoleThis is an entry level role for a fixed term of 6 months during the peak dairy season, from December to May.

This role is part of the wider operations & service team and will report to a Laboratory Team Leader in Animal Health.Based in the Lab at Riverlea, your role will be to assist in preparing and testing animal samples for the Animal Health Laboratory and contribute to running a profitable commercial laboratory services business.

You will assist in maintaining the operation of the laboratory within the required ISO standards, including the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

You will be required to comply with all Laboratory procedures including all Health and Safety legislation.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurate and reliable receipting and preparation of samples according to Laboratory SOPs.Maintain laboratory equipment at an acceptable operational state through defined proactive maintenance programs.Liaise with other laboratory staff to ensure seamless processing of samples through the Diagnostics laboratories.Ensure adequate supplies of laboratory consumables and washed laboratory ware are available daily.Keep laboratory work areas clean, contamination-free, and tidy.Help maintain ISO

• quality standards for all laboratory practices.Support continuous improvement programmes to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs.About YouWe are seeking candidates who possess the following attributes : Good interpersonal communication skills.A can-do attitude and positive approach.Knowledge of laboratory processes and procedures.A tertiary qualification in science is preferred, but not essential.Ability to effectively problem solve laboratory equipment.Knowledge and operational experience with ISO
