We are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead us into the future.

The Specifics
You’ll be stepping into a genuine “small organisation with big impact” CEO role.
Leading the organisation through growth and change.
Driving major initiatives : planning for retail expansion, supporting the building project, enhancing continual improvement mechanisms.
Working collaboratively with follow Hospices across Tamaki Makaurau to develop joint initiatives.
Broad responsibility for financial planning & delivery, HR, IT, quality systems, stakeholder relationships, business planning.
What you will bring
- Visionary thinking – You need to see the big picture : where hospice care is going, what the community needs, and how to get there.
- Change management – From adapting to funding shifts to expanding services or relocating, you’ll guide the team through evolution with confidence.
- Stakeholder relationship management – Building strong and enduring relationships with donors, funders, community partners, and local businesses to fuel sustainable fundraising growth.
- Business acumen – Sound business planning, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Exemplary leadership – Hospice teams are multidisciplinary and emotionally invested in their work. You’ll need to inspire, support, and retain passionate staff.
- Volunteer management – Volunteers are the lifeblood of many hospices. You’ll need to engage them with care and appreciation.
- HR understanding – From hiring and performance management to staff wellbeing and compliance, you’ll wear the HR hat often.
- Financial management – Comfort with budgets, funding applications, reporting, and fiscal responsibility is critical.
- IT & systems thinking – From clinical systems to CRM and quality monitoring tools — tech‑savviness helps keep things humming.
- Quality & compliance – You’ll ensure best‑practice care through audits, reporting, and quality improvement systems.
- Palliative care insight – You don’t need to be a clinician, but understanding the principles of end‑of‑life care and the hospice model is vital.
- Health & not‑for‑profit knowledge – Knowing how health services are funded and delivered in NZ, especially in the NGO space, is a major advantage.
